Firing Rules

Do not use glazes or stains that contain LEAD and CADMIUM. It will potentially contaminate our kiln and anything that we ever fire again.
Please make sure your piece is not over glazed / to avoid sticking to the kiln shelves. Significant damages to our kiln and kiln shelves due to melting glaze or other materials will incur fees*. Always make sure you have not glazed underneath your piece will stick to the shelf and maybe will be destroyed in order to remove it.
Make sure your pieces are BONE DRY. Hold the piece up to your face. Is it cold? If so, there is still water inside your piece and it could explode in the kiln. Unfortunately we cannot take responsibility for breakages that occur in the kiln.
Please contact us in advance, as we use this kiln too and it might be in use
If you have a specific temperature firing for your work, you might have to rent the full kiln.
Greenware or Raw glazing are allowed; We highly recommend to do a test before filling the entire kiln.
